What is the best way to travel from New York City to Portland Maine and back? - portland travel agency
I flew from Seattle to New York in April and wants to make a trip to Portland, Maine, during my time. Flying seems too expensive. What would you recommend for trains and / or coaches? I was in New York, but never north of here. Thank you.

Yes, the bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal near Times Square is a good alternative. The train is more expensive and less with the bus there is a bus to Boston, probably every hour and connect in Portland, Boston.
JetBlue flies to Portland from May and the prices are reasonable ($) 59 each way.
